Bountiful Baskets!

I have to share this sweet thing my sister introduced us to, it's a food co-op called Bountiful Baskets (www.bountifulbaskets.org). The way it works is, on Monday you go online and choose a location where you want to pick up your order and pay for it. The drop offs are on Saturdays at that location and time you selected online, and the cost $15 + $1.50 for handling. We've only done it twice, but it's just such a good deal we have to share with all our friends! You don't get to choose what you get, but you're guaranteed 5-7 various fruits and the same of various vegetables. This week we got the following:

Strawberries (1 carton)
Blueberries (1 carton)
Apples (bag of 10)
Bananas (9)
Kiwis (6)
Cucumbers (6)
Celery (2 stocks)
Cabage (1 head)
Lettuce (2 heads)
Acorn Squash (1)
Radishes (3 small bags)
Asparagus (2 bunches)

We've been pleasantly surprised both times with the quantity, quality, variety, and price (of course). Check out the site, they have drop offs all over Utah, and in a few other states.

Oh yeah, here's a funny shot of Mose too. We opened the front door this morning, after we noticed we had filled the house with bacon smoke. It was like we were letting him hang his head out the car window, he just kept running over and watching out the screen door! He's still such a puppy, except bigger and potty trained (usually)!

  1. Oh my, Katie, we have been getting these for about the past month too, and are loving it so far!! I love having fresh fruits and veggies in the house, and I also love getting fruits and veggies that I am not used to. It kind of forces me to figure out something to do with them! Have you tried any of the breads yet?? I have heard they are pretty good too.....

  2. Katie, I have a great acorn squash recipe - easy and super yummy. I would make it more often except andy is a stinker and won't eat squash.

  6. I've heard about this but I wish my family (and me) weren't so picky. You get so much for such a great price! Maybe I'll have to give it a try and I can just give my mom the stuff we don't like. Good deal!

  7. ah-ha, your little puppy looks so much like our little dog. Michael named him champ, after we had to rule out his first choice of poopy pants. He kind of remind me of lady your dog, maybe just because of the size. What kind of dog is he. Ours is a Chihuahua, white with some black patches, they could be twins..so cute.

ps thanks for the great tip about the fruits and veggies thats awesome
